Thanks to Mid-Atlantic Lutherans in Mission
Pilgrim Christian Day School (PCDS) has received grants in the amount of $50,000.00 from Mid-Atlantic Lutherans in Mission. The grants have enabled PCDS to upgrade our computer laboratory (replacing windows XP computers with Windows 10 computers), purchase science kits and materials for a STEM Labaratory, and purchase 35 Chromebook computers and two 16-unit storage/charging stations.
The acquisitions described above, have helped modernize the technology component of our learning environment. PCDS is a small elementary school, with students from an under served community. Our major income stream is from tuition payments. School tuition is maintained at a level that is affordable for more students to attend. This means that our funding base for technology is minimal since salaries account for about 80% of our expenses.
For the above reasons, the grants received from MALIM are extremely important to our making progress with enhancing the technology component of our learning environment. This in-turns means that we will attract more students who will be educated in a Christian environment.
